 Today we went over the poem “Mother to Son” by Langston Hughes. I learned about how he used figurative language to compare life to stairs. I connected with this poem because I also go to my mom often for advice. This impacted me to help me appreciate my mom more. I liked this lesson because we went over it together as a class. My day was good today, but I am tired because I spent the night studying.

 Today we read and analyzed the poem “The Negro Speaks of Rivers”. I learned a lot of new things like how black people were the first people on earth. I liked this lesson because it taught me a lot through figurative speech. I also like how it used rivers to show changes in time. I feel pretty tired today because I stayed up calling my best friend and doing homework last night. 

 Today there was a sub. We read chapter 8. We also worked on the commonlit assignment for chapter 8.  I liked this lesson but it was pretty boring after because there was nothing else to do. I feel good today. 

Today we took an assessment. After that we got assigned a mini project. I think I’m gonna choose to do my project on Daisy. I’m either gonna choose the website one or the trash one. Today I feel happy because I got to talk to my friends

 Today we presented our poster. My group did the poster on Nick Carraway. For his personality traits we put that he is bold, nonchalant, nonjudgemental, and honest. I got nervous to present, but I liked the picture we had on our poster. I was nervous to present.
