 Today there was a sub. We read chapter 8. We also worked on the commonlit assignment for chapter 8.  I liked this lesson but it was pretty boring after because there was nothing else to do. I feel good today.

 Today we went over the poem “Mother to Son” by Langston Hughes. I learned about how he used figurative language to compare life to stairs. I connected with this poem because I also go to my mom often for advice. This impacted me to help me appreciate my mom more. I liked this lesson because we went over it together as a class. My day was good today, but I am tired because I spent the night studying.
